About EYCP
The idea for “Early Years Curriculum Plans” has long been at the back of my mind. Having been a early years teacher for 10 years and then having worked with nursery nurses for another 10, I could see that planning was becoming more and more time consuming, and that giving up evenings and weekends was putting off otherwise very dedicated practitioners.
The thought came to mind that a template of activity plans could be pre-prepared in such a way that they could be edited and printed off and therefore save practitioners hours of time. Work began on the first disk. After several hurdles, “Christmas Post” was released in November 2007 and has since led to 18 other disks on various themes. The response to these has been very encouraging. Feedback received by telephone, e mail and by letter has been so positive I now feel I have a responsibility to carry on!
There are a further topic disks in the pipeline as well as ideas for developing continuous learning plans; EYFS planning for two year olds; using EYFS at home for childminders and parents; and EYFS for before and after schools clubs.
